 "We're not out of the woods yet". A common phrase for all-too-common times of struggle and difficulties, right?
With everything going on the way it has over this past year, we've heard this phrase many a time in light of a hopeful future to come free of restrictions, masks and mayhem! Yet, as a camp, we're happy to say that we ARE getting out of the woods - literally and figuratively - as we have successfully raised over $67,000 (of $70,000) towards our Sewer Update Initiative. With this money that has been generously given, we have given our deposit to start and complete the work in the coming weeks. If everything goes according to plan we will have a brand new septic system that is "out of the woods" (it's previous location), ready to handle full camps and redirected on it's new path around the woods... This upgrade will provide a key piece of infrastructure that will ensure the safe and efficient operation of Chubb Lake Bible Camp and it's various retreats and rentals in the years to come! With this in mind and as you read this encouraging update today, I'd as you to... 1) PRAY: Pray for our camp and our region and for continued opportunity to see changed hearts and lives in Jesus' name at a camp that is fully operational, safe, and fun! 2) GIVE: If you are able to give any amount to this or other projects, head to our main page or click "donate" at the top left of our website page to give in whatever way works best for you!  Chubb Lake Bible camp has, for many years, impacted the lives of children, youth and families with the power of the Gospel. Over the past year we have faced some challenges due to the fact that we've been unable to host camps or rentals. We are definitely praying for better days ahead!
The most significant hurdle the camp is currently facing is that our sewer system needs to be replaced. Since we have had no income from camps last year and we are not sure what this current year will hold, this is a major challenge. If we are going to continue to impact the lives of young people as well as families, we need our camp and it's facilities operational! The work required to replace the sewer will cost approximately $70,000 and, to be very honest, we simply don't have that kind of money set aside. But with the generous support from people who believe in this camp and our vision of "changing hearts and changing lives", we believe we can raise this money in the short term to make camp a continual highlight and transformational experience in the long term.
